Dicha premisa presupone que existe algo así como un observador o mediador que no condicione, nolens volens, su objeto o su destinatario. En el plano filosófico dicha posición corresponde al realismo ingenuo, por ejemplo en la concepción del conocimiento como proceso de copia de un original, así como al positivismo de principios del siglo XX. Tanto Kant como otras corrientes críticas en el siglo XIX y XX (Nietzsche, Marx, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, el racionalismo crítico de Popper, la hermenéutica de Gadamer, la teoría de sistemas de Luhmann, el constructivismo de Heinz von Foerster etc.) han mostrado los límites de dicha posición. En el campo de la comunicación esta sería la posición de un mensaje que ha de ser trasmitido objetivamente al destinatario, sin tener en cuenta el sentido semántico y pragmático inherente a todo mensaje como lo presenta por ejemplo la teoría de la información de Claude Shannon. El 'no' del "no analizar, no juzgar, no sancionar" supone una diferencia entre mensaje y mensajero con la que opera todo sistema de comunicación. Esta diferencia tiende a reducirse aparentemente a cero en los sistemas de comunicación de tiempo real en los cuales el destinatario tiene muy poco tiempo para diferenciar y seleccionar entre las diversas posibilidades de sentido de los mensajes, es decir de producir la diferencia entre lo que Luhmann llama el anuncio ("Mitteilung") y la información ("Information")
Ha de tenerse en cuenta también que todo mediador es a su vez un destinatario y se encuentra en la misma posición que la que toma cuando se transforma en mediador. Podríamos hablar aquí de un círculo hermenéutico en el cual no hay comprensión ("Verstehen") y análisis ("Auslegung") sin precomprensión ("Vorverständnis"). La teoría de la ciencia habla de paradigmas o teorías que necesariamente pre-judican toda percepción aparentemente inmediata de los datos sensoriales.
La biología actual especialmente en el campo del análisis de los procesos sensoriales y de su elaboración en las redes neuronales del cerebro ha corroborado empíricamente esta posición. Si esto es así, es decir si no podemos 'no no analizar', tampoco podemos 'no no juzgar' ni 'no no sancionar'. En otras palabras, la simple postura de 'no juzgar' y 'no sancionar' se adapta subrepticiamente a una moral, es decir a una serie de reglas implícitas y/o explícitas, dentro de las cuales todo sucede 'como si' el medio/el mediador fuera neutral. La óptica de la ética es justamente la de mostrar que se trata en realidad de un 'como si'.

La ética entendida como reflexión sobre la moral (incluyendo la fijación de esta última en las leyes) crea iterativamente la diferencia entre mensaje y mensajero, incluyendo necesariamente el aporte activo del destinatario.

Negative Scenarios
Positive descriptions of what a system does can mislead people into over-interpreting and expecting more than has been specified. For that reason it is useful in specifying scenarios describing what is to be done in a project, to add some possible related scenarios that will not be within the planned scope of the project. To some extent the restrictions can be specified in an abstract way without using scenario-level detail. However it will often be clearer to add notes to a scenario description explicitly excluding some possible extensions that some readers might expect to be included. I am reading Daniel Dennett's excellent Darwin's Dangerous Idea, in which he devotes some space to the concept of "spandrels" in evolutionary thought. A spandrel is more or less an accidental byproduct of something else of more adaptive significance. Later, the spandrel itself may become an adaptation, though it did not start out as one...

In Queneau's Zazie dans le Metro there is a parrot who throughout the novel repeats the same words over and over: "You talk, you talk, its all you know how to do." Queneau had it right; less talking, less writing, fewer words might give room for clearer perceptions and cleaner emotion. Too much food, wine, language is an intoxicant. Less is better. Language is highly over-rated as a means of communication.
